I have a 3 node cluster configuration with two instances. I believe this is refered to as an N+1 cluster. The instances are installed on all three nodes with Node A running instance 1 and Node B running instance 2, Node C is a just around for a failover. Since any one node can run both instances, what is the proper quorum setting. The MS preferred is node majority so two instances must be up. I don't want that, the point of this environment is that we could take a node out for maintenance and if we had a failure during that time that one of the other two nodes could still function solo. With node majority we would be down.
Any help is appreciated.
